Kodi Jackman
Kodi Jackman is a trial strategist and consultant specializing in witness preparation and courtroom communication. She regularly works with some of the top trial lawyers in the country on high stakes and high profile cases. Kodi draws on her career as a stage performer and acting instructor to inform her work in the legal field, helping lawyers and witnesses connect with juries and judges so that they can more effectively and truthfully tell the story of their case.
A classically trained stage performer, Kodi actually began her education in National Security, International Counterintelligence, and Homeland Security before leaving to pursue a career in London on the classical stage. Trained at the Guildford School, one of the United Kingdom's most esteemed classical theater institutions, Kodi was the first American in over half a decade to enter the program, which only accepts about two dozen actors a year. She earned her BA with honors while working professionally in London at theaters like the Yvonne Arnaud and the Ivy Arts.
After returning to the US, Kodi worked in NYC and Los Angeles. Her work regionally up and down the coast of California garnered nominations for her performances in leading roles in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles. She recently relocated to Boston, where she frequently appears on stage and commutes back to the major markets for film and TV work.
Before working with ACT, Kodi worked as a consultant for actors and actresses in Hollywood, assessing character perception and range. Applying her skills and intuition, she gave performers a better understanding in what roles they were likely to book based on their relationship to a character's various emotional and physical aspects. This mastery of how audiences perceive performance and how to unlock the stories within is key to her effectiveness with witnesses and lawyers. Rather than mold a witness into what the lawyer wants, Kodi uncovers the truth of what is happening inside the witness so they can be authentic within the context of the broader trial narrative.
When she is not in trial and deposition prep, Kodi is a sought after speaker at private firms and for national trial lawyer associations across the country.
